• Under the general supervision and direction of the Chief of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery or designee, conduct a wide variety of patient care and related duties in support of SHG Surgeons.
• Position will function as first call for all emergency department consults with physician back-up primarily for Surgical Specialties.
• Conduct rounds as needed for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery patients.
• Assist in OR for trauma cases as necessary.
• Overnight APP coverage for SLH. .

Qualifications:

• Physician Assistant: bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required. Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants within one year of hire is required.
• Family Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required. Family Nurse Practitioner required to see patients of all ages. Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
• Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License is required.
• One year experience required.
• Surgical First Assistant required for Nurse Practitioner.
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) current certification required prior to start
